TARRAN SAMANTHA SANDERS
EXCEPTIONAL PORTRAITURE – TARRAN SAMANTHA SANDERS
by CAROLINE HILLARY
Tarran Samantha Sanders is currently exhibiting her first body of works at the Rotary Arts Festival at Hyde Park Corner, Johannesburg. Describing herself as an ‘emerging artist’, this humble, yet exceptionally talented young woman is one of my favourite art picks this month and I’ve been stalking her work for a while, as she’s slowly been sneaking it on social media to test the waters.
Piece-by-piece her work has become more mind-blowing by the day, with facial portraits being top of the ‘like’ pile for me. (I just cannot get over the detail!)
Tarran is one of those artists who grew up living, loving and breathing art. She studied the technicalities of the subject, but quickly got sucked into the working life of a graphic designer, choosing to use her talents in a more income-friendly manner.
Although she has formed her own art company ‘Nib And Bristle’, she is only now starting to completely resign herself to the fact that she was born to do this.
Take a look at some of her amazing scratchboard and watercolour creations, catch her exhibition at Hyde Park which runs until the 11th June, and follow her on her the interwebs on:
